Welcome to the Inquiring Mind NZ site. Inquiry learning is a passion of mine, I have been implementing it in varying forms since I began my teaching career over 30 years ago. This site is a collection of information, research results and resources about inquiry learning that I compiled during my time as a Ministry of Education e-learning fellow and updated from my ongoing research and experience as a teacher and facilitator of learning for teachers.

On this site I take a look at what inquiry-based learning is and why it is such a great approach. I discuss how questions are key and the role of different types of questions. I compare various models of inquiry and talk about why inquiry is a disposition, not a process. I share some examples and resources that should support you in implementing an inquiry-based approach and discuss the role of technology in supporting inquiries drawing on my research and experience in the classroom.
